School calendars for 2025-2026 and 2026-2027
At the regular board meeting on March 24, our Board of Education approved the calendars for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 school years. Our calendar committee worked diligently to develop calendars for the next two school years in order to provide ample time for planning both families and staff.
As in prior years, the calendar development process includes the consideration of feedback from families, team members, the Tulsa Classroom Teachers Association (TCTA), the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), and the elementary and secondary principals associations.
The 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 calendars will include 168 instructional days for students. With these calendars, we aimed to maximize pockets of time that occur naturally within the calendar while minimizing short weeks. Based on community feedback, we will return to a full week for Fall Break while maintaining a full week holiday for Thanksgiving. For next school year, school will begin on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2025 and the last day will be Thursday, May 28, 2026.
You can find printable versions of the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 calendars on our website atwww.tulsaschools.org/calendar.
Last day of school for students
Please be aware of an important schedule update for Tulsa Public Schools students. Due to inclement weather days used, one additional school day has been added at the end of the semester. The last day for students will now be Thursday, May 22. This adjustment ensures we meet the required learning time with minimal disruption. We appreciate your understanding and support as we make this necessary change. You can read more on our website.

FAFSA Completion Requirement for Graduating Seniors
All seniors must complete a FAFSA application or complete an opt-out form before March 26 in order to graduate and participate in senior activities like prom. The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) helps eligible students obtain financial aid for two- or four-year college, technical school, or career training programs, and it is open now! Funding is awarded on a first come, first served basis, so students should submit their application as soon as possible.
If your student still needs to complete the FAFSA, our team can help! You can speak with your student’s counselor for one-on-one support with the FAFSA or opt-out form. You can also make an appointment to meet in-person or on Zoom with a TPS team member who can assist. Interpretation services are available - please be sure to note your language preference in your appointment request. Visit www.tulsaschools.org/FAFSA for more information or to make an appointment. We understand that some families may have questions or concerns about how your family’s information might be used or shared. Please know that Tulsa Public Schools is doing all we can to support and protect you and your family.
